Pearlfisher: A Collection Of Piano Solos 2009 - 2019

Gerald Krampl

The piano solos on this double album are new recordings of songs I have written over the last twelve years, and can bee seen as kind of a retrospective of my solo piano works.
It contains six unreleased new songs from 2018 and 2019, the titles 06, 08,13, 20, 21, 22, as well as revisited and re-recorded old songs, sort of „pearls” in my opinion, taken from my various releases over the years.
By using my new Feurich „Vienna” piano for these recordings, I had now also the chance to give these re-recorded songs a completely new sound character, and also did some slight variations in playing.

Advent & Christmas (Solo Piano Variations)

Gerald Krampl

This double album offers on the first album (track 1 - 10) my own solo piano variations of clearely defined, traditional Advent songs, and on the second album (track 11 - 19) my favorite selection of clearely defined Christmas songs! I have been sticking here to the original procedure of the church liturgy, which makes a clear distinction between songs for the Advent time, longing for the birth of the Messia, and songs for the Christmas time, which in fact starts on Dec. 24th. and cheerishes the birth of Jesus. For me it was interesting to feel and interpret these two slightly different moods in the songs, though in the end I feel the beauty of these timeless melodies gives the freedom to hear these songs at every time you want, especially in these pure solo piano versions!

Waterscapes (Solo Piano)

Gerald Krampl

This is the third solo piano album in the "Scapes" series, following my 2015 released "Landscapes" and 2016 released "Dreamscapes" album. All songs were again written and performed by myself, and recorded on my refurbished old Euterpe piano at home, This time, the 10 very neo-classical songs cruise thematically around the element "Water" and it's inhabitants in various forms.

Dreamscapes (Solo Piano)

Gerald Krampl

This is the second solo piano album in the "Scapes" series, following my 2015 released "Landscapes" album, again recorded on my refurbished old Euterpe piano at home, The 11 songs are all written and played by myself in a very classical new age or neo-classical style, and invite you to follow me on a relaxing musical journey, visiting various areas in my inner land of dreams.

Landscapes (Solo Piano)

Gerald Krampl

The songs on this album were composed, performed and recorded by my own on my old refurbished Euterpe Piano in 2015, and each track is a musical picture of an area visited on a fictional journey, starting in the woodlands of the Northern Hills and finally ending at an ancient seaside village. So just sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey!

Quietude: Essentials 2006 - 2012

Gerald Krampl

The tracks on this compilation are taken from my 5 albums I have released from 2006 - 2012, and are my personal favorites from this periode.
For me, each one has this own special magic and atmosphere that gives me the feeling of a perfect transformation from my inner visions into this piece of music, which is in fact often only hardly to achieve.
It‘s also a good overview about my „electric period” where I used digital pianos, synthetic strings, synthesizer etc., until 2012 when I recorded „Wonder Way” with digital piano and acoustic strings, which finally brought me back to my old acoustic piano, which is since then
my sole instrument for making music.

...Until At Last, Night Closes In (Solo Piano)

Gerald Krampl

After my first solo piano excursion with the “Solo Piano Collectibles” album, I received such a lot of good response and from many sides also the wish that I should do such an album with completely new songs.

I liked this idea too, started composing, and as it sometimes is in life, as soon as I had the compositions finished suddenly came the chance that I could record the album at the “Theater Kurpark Oberlaa” in Vienna on a beautiful Boesendorfer Grand Piano. So in fact these songs were recorded in just one day, starting early morning until night (title!), with the help of a friend operating the mobile recording equipment, and my daughter doing photo and video shootings, you can see them posted on my Facebook and YouTube profiles.

The songs you hear now on this album are mainly in a very melodious New Age or Neo-Classical style, and due to the unique high tuning of the grand piano sounding very clear and bright. Influences obviously came from people like Ludovico Einaudi, Olafur Arnalds, Dustin O’Halloran, Erik Satie etc.
So sit back, relax, and let's stop the wheels from turning round for a little while of recreation!

Solo Piano Collectibles

Gerald Krampl

Aside the three new tracks on this album (No. 01, 06, & 11) were all others taken from my last three studio albums. I slightly varied them
sometimes, played it in different tempos and changed some single notes, but these are in fact the original bare compositions played on
my old Euterpe Piano with it‘s special vintage sound, on which nearly 90% of my songs have been composed over the last 45 years!

Wonder Way

Gerald Krampl

"Musical reflections of scenes and dreams from a journey full of wonders through life."

The music on this album could best be described as Neo-Classical / Ambient Chamber Music, likely to compare with artists as Olafur Arnalds, Max Richter, Ludovico Einaudi, Dustin O'Halloran etc.
All tracks were again written by Gerald Krampl - Piano & Electronics, but this time recorded with the support of additional musician Peter Sagaischek on Viola & Violin, who originally plays in the reknown Vienna Volksopern Orchestra.

The very intimate songs are inspired either by real life sceneries or pure imagination, reflecting the associated inner feelings in a minmalistic, classical style, enhanced with sparely placed electronic embellishments.

Lighthouse

Gerald Krampl

A very reflective album full of personal impressions collected over a year like photographs, and then set to sparely instrumented music based on classical piano, two e-strings and additional electronic sound effects. Again in Gerald's actually unique style as a crossover between classic, minimalism and ambient, which can best be defined as "Electronic Chamber Music".

Innocent Wasteland

Gerald Krampl

Classic & Minimalism meets Electronic, which can best be described as "Electronic Chamber Music".
A dark, melancholic album, mostly sparely instrumented with a classical intention of a basic piano with max. 2 more e-strings, but also some pure electronic titles, and this all extended with various electronic and nature soundeffects that add a certain soundtrack feeling to the whole. Overall conceptual idea for this album was the endless cycle of destruction and rewakening in it's various forms around us.
